Windows 10: businesses could have details on patches eventually

Microsoft seems to have returned, in part, on its policy of patches and updates for Windows 10. The publisher should therefore provide details of updates, at least to corporate customers.

Initially, Microsoft has indicated it has no plans to provide complete details on patches and updates provided for Windows 10. Since the publisher seems to have decided to rethink its strategy. At least in part, and for businesses.

Because to date, Microsoft officials said that the publisher did not intend to communicate with individuals on patches and updates made on Windows 10. The company tells The Register that it will release some information on the features "significant" and cumulative updates to the OS. Targeted information, but not everything.

1.5 million installations of Windows 10 Enterprise

For now, this practice therefore marks a decline from the level of detail provided on patches with previous versions of Windows. "We do not make complete lists of changes is too hard to handle and does not really add any value," explained on Twitter August 22 the head of the Windows program Insider, Gabe Aul.

On August 28, during a press briefing at the Redmond campus, the vice president of publisher, Jim Alkove said that could be provided to corporate clients such changes lists for patches and updates. However he did not specify when or in what form these data would be transmitted.

At the conference, Jim Alkove also indicated that of the 75 million registered installations of Windows 10, 1.5 million corresponded to Windows versions of Company facilities 10. A figure provided no further details, particularly on the part Insiders testers or among these facilities.
