Google changes its visual identity and a new logo unveiled

As the new school year in full swing, Google has decided to review its corporate identity with a new logo to boot. For the occasion, a special Doodle was set up on the search engine's home page.

There are a few weeks, Google announced a major restructuring and reorganization of its various entities, which now take place under the aegis of Alphabet. But the giant Net fact remains there and today unveiled a new visual identity, which aims to highlight the "many paths that lead to Google services," while letting you "know when Google products you use, even on smaller screens. "

While not a revolution, the new logo is distinguished from the former by a slightly rounder police and thick, but always with the same color code. For its part, the small blue icon in the shape of "g" is replaced by "G" more imposing with the same four colors as the logo. "We took everything that Google has better (its simplicity, its clarity, its colors, usability)" indicates the search engine.

Pragmatic, Google added that "this is not the first time that we change our look, and it probably will not be the last. We believe that change today reflects all the opportunities available to you with the search engine Google, Maps, Gmail, Chrome, and all our other applications. "

The update will be progressively deployed on all Google products, with a Doodle on the homepage for the occasion. Note that a history of the various logos is available here.
