Microsoft offers VMs Windows 10 free to test Edge

Microsoft now offers free download Edge virtual machines on Windows 10 (Windows compatible, OS X and Linux). These VMs, for developers, expire after 90 days.

Edge is the new default browser in Windows. With this alternative to Internet Explorer, Microsoft hopes to get back in the race for browsers, including smartphones and tablets. The publisher, however, must accompany the developers.

For this, Microsoft now offers free virtual machines with Windows 10 Edge. These VMs are compatible with various OS market and major hypervisors, including VMware and VirtualBox.

VMs for testing of its site with Edge

With these pictures Windows 10 / Edge, Microsoft allows developers and companies to test the display of their sites on Edge, but also to discover the latest version of its Windows OS at the same time.

These free virtual machines possible in particular to exploit the Build 10240 of Windows 10 Enterprise. Gratuity is temporary and aims to conduct many tests over a limited period of time (90 days).

"With this release, we have automated the process we use to create virtual machines, and future updates will be available as quickly as we update the platform" explains in a blog post in charge of the Edge program
